Ask Congress to Take Action Against Bullying

By Admin - Posted on 14 January 2013

In the summer of 2012, The Hill reported that the House was expected to pass a bill that would provide grants to schools to help combat bullying. Within weeks, the bill was parked on the Union calendar, never to be seen again.

We, the undersigned, petition the United States House of Representatives to revive H.R. 6019 (112th): Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Reauthorization and the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Act of 2012.

We believe that all students have a right to attend school without the fear of being emotionally harassed or physically harmed.

We believe that schools should have access to proven programs to help staff and students identify and prevent bullying before it happens.

We believe bullying in our schools is a national tragedy that should have a consistent, coordinated solution supported by our government on a national level.

Please join us in petitioning The U.S. House to introduce and pass legislation that will support those efforts made by school districts and individual schools to keep students safe from bullying.

Thank you for joining in the fight to keep our schools free from bullying.
